Chef Uno's Texas Style Grilled Cheese

Chef Uno shares with us her recipe for a grilled cheese that has some serious Texas flair.

Texas Grilled Cheese Sandwich

4        slices                Texas Toast

6        cloves               roasted garlic*

1        cup                   mayonnaise

1/4     teaspoon           salt

4        ounces              Velveeta Cheese

In a mixing bowl, add roasted garlic paste, mayonnaise and salt until well combined.

Heat a non-stick skillet to medium low heat.

Spread garlic mixture on both sides of toast. Place two places of bread and allow to warm and turn golden brown (2-3 minutes). Flip bread once toasted. Add two ounces of cheese to warm side and top with other warm other slice of bread. Allow to toast for 2-3 minutes and flip until other side is toasted.

*Slice off the top each head of garlic to expose some of the cloves inside. Place the heads on a piece of foil. Drizzle with olive oil and wrap in the foil. Roast until cloves are lightly browned and tender, 200 degrees for 3 hours.
