Being rude at one coffee shop will cost you. WDBJ7 reports that a sign outside CUPS Coffee & Tea in Roanoke, Virginia shows customers what they will pay depending on how polite they are.

“One small coffee”
$5.00
“One small coffee, please”
$3.00
“Hello, I’d like one small coffee please.”
$1.75

Austin Simms is the barista behind the brave message and says he was just trying to be funny, not famous. But it didn’t take long for people to notice. He told WDBJ7 that he wrote the message on Sunday and by the next day it had already made international news.
