Marc Ching is a real-life superhero who rescues dogs from slaughterhouses in Asia-- dogs kept in indescribable situations, battling years of tradition in some places.

Marc started his journey into the dark world of slaughterhouses after seeing what happened at a dog festival in China.  Since then, he's been trying to raise awareness and bring change.

"In Asia they eat dogs out there but they have this belief that if you torture or abuse a dog first it makes the meat taste better," Marc said in a one-on-one interview with Eye Opener TV.  "So our foundation goes undercover to document what they’re doing to expose it to push the government to make change."

Some of the images and video we obtained is too violent to share. Even then, the images we chose to include in the story above may still be difficult to watch.

Going undercover as an American in the dog meat industry isn't easy or safe.  Marc has been hospitalized and even beaten up on several occasions.

However, Marc and his organization are saving lives, bringing most of the rescued dogs to his Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation in Los Angeles, where they wait for adoption to a loving and caring family.
