What You Need to Know About DC’s ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Before the Season 2 Premiere

With "Arrow" and "The Flash" having both returned for new seasons and "Supergirl" breaking records with its season two premiere, it’s clear America is hungry for more superhero action.

Well, good news, you still have season two of "Legends of Tomorrow" to look forward to!  So, we figured we'd recap season 1 to get you ready for a whole new season of comic book fun.

That said, be wary, spoilers are ahead.

Set in the same universe as "The Flash," "Arrow," and "Supergirl," "Legends of Tomorrow" is about time master Rip Hunter who travels from the future to our time where he creates a team of super heroes and villains to stop an immortal named Vandal Savage from destroying basically everything.

The group consists of The Atom – kinda like a non-jerkish Iron Man played by former "Superman Returns" star, Brandon Routh as well as White Canary, Firestorm, Captain Cold, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl.

Together they travel across time from the 1800s to the 22nd century to stop Vandal Savage from using the blood of three ancient Egyptians who had been irradiated by a meteorite made of the same metal from which Hawkman and Hawkgirl's weapons are forged, to active time bombs therefore resetting time and rewriting history so Savage becomes the ruler of all mankind.

Of course, the radiation from these meteors actually makes Vandal Savage mortal, allowing the Legends of Tomorrow to kill him, stop the time bombs, and save the world.

However, as the season ends, a man named Rex Tyler arrives in a time machine and tells the team they are all going to die.

And with that, season one ended.

Will season two be filled with just as much twisted time travel tomfoolery and convoluted comic craziness?

There's only one way to find out: check out the season two premiere of DC's "Legends of Tomorrow," Thursday, October 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
