11-year-old, Felix Castillo is responsible for launching Felix’s Famous Cookies. This 5th grader needed something for his school's craft fair that will blow everyone away. Enter, Felix's Famous Cookies.
The business has taken off since then.
The cookie recipe originally came from his grandmother, who had passed away before she could see what a hit her cookies are and how much it's impacted her family's life. His mom found the recipe on her laptop and at the young age of 6 years old, he wanted to make them and sell them.
Felix makes anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 cookies a day; and a portion of all the money he makes gets donated to a charity in grandma's name.
Felix has also became a poster child for the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. They are trying to promote the importance of Hispanic businesses.
