When it comes to new album releases in 2017, the year is off to a stellar start!

Hip hop duo Run The Jewels has perhaps the most unique take when it comes to dropping their third album titled “RTJ3.” In a spoof video on their YouTube channel they jokingly considered faking their own deaths to increase record sales. RTJ members El-P and Killer Mike dropped the album three weeks early. You can download it for free at runthejewels.com.

Alessi Laurent-Marke, formerly known as Alessi’s Ark and now mononymously going by Alessi, is not cut out to be a fisherman’s wife. At least according to her single “Wives” on the Brit’s folk-twanged album of the same name. The album is described as a “meditation on womanhood.” Pre-order the 8” vinyl album at alessisark.com.

Danny Gokey stole the hearts of millions on Season 8 of American Idol. Just a month before his audition he tragically lost his wife. His heartbreak is captured in the soulful tunes on his latest album “Rise”. Download it on iTunes or visit dannygokey.com.

Finally The Flaming Lips are back! They are taking fans on another acid-tripy adventure, at least according to Rolling Stone. “Oczy Mlody” is available for download on iTunes or by visiting their website.
