Australian trainer Dylan Rivier says women who are looking to get toned should ditch the treadmill and focus on weight lifting.
Rivier told the Daily Mail that building muscles keeps the calories burning longer which helps you shed the pounds faster. Bulking up is unlikely because, according to Rivier, you would have to work out seven days a week and eat a "truck load".
He encourages women to spend no more than an hour each day training, in fact 40-60 minutes, three times per week is enough for most people.
Strength training in combination with eating clean or unprocessed foods will have you looking shred in no time.
