Did Kendrick Lamar just confirm a new albums is dropping soon?

Kendrick’s Instagram account Thursday morning posted this mysterious post—a black square with the roman numerals “IV.”

Some online are speculating this could be the follow-up to his album “To Pimp a Butterfly is on the way, considering he only has three albums out—“Section.80,” “good kid, m.A.A.d city” and “To Pump a Butterfly.”

The website CapitalXtra points out the rapper recently revealed that he was working on a “very urgent” new album.

“I think now, how wayward things have gone within the past few months, my focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork,” Lamar told the New York Times.

“‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore.”

He continued, “We’re in a time where we exclude one major component out of this whole thing called life: God. Nobody speaks on it because it’s almost in conflict with what’s going on in the world when you talk about politics and government and the system.”

The Grammy Award-winner is scheduled to play Coachella in April.
